Somehow I think Monique being a lesbo didn't blow over to well with them.

Also, I don't really care about the lesbian thing. I just fucking hate fanart and most of all, I hate people who decide the comic isn't hardcore enough and draw the characters in "sexual" (Granted, this is nothing. Just wait until you see Slick naked, while playing some sort of harp.) positions.
I'm tired of browsing on the internet and finding all my childhood comic heroes on eachother's faces.
Also, fuck off.
PS: If I were you, and I'm glad I'm not, I'd change that "lezbos" warning in the title to "Warning! Retarded drawings inside!". _________________ attitude of a street punk, only cutting selected words out of context to get onself excuse to let one's dirty mouth loose |

Of course you'd still be making the same posts to criticize. There are always going to be creative people around who draws their inspiration from others work, in my opinion it is flattery and not something to get so worked up about, no matter the theme.
Admittedly you had a very fun example with the Spock drawing, my initial impression there was someone had to be making a parody - according to the website "These illustrations were created for various erotic/adult publications, including Playgirl magazine."
But in the end it would not matter to me if you had managed to dig up something with even more risque content or poor technical quality, fanart it always going to be around, and I still cannot fathom why anyone would think it inherently bad.
PS Very well done drawing Kibate, now I got to add your Sailor moon comic to the web comics I read. |

Fanart, in and of itself, is not inherently bad. I've seen some amazingly well done and in character fanart. And it actually has a much older word for it, called a homage. However, it gets kind of creepy when people make fictional characters sexualized in a way they are normally not. At that point, it begins to come across as an unhealthy fixation. Fantasy is fun, but art is work (and fun, sometimes) and to put so much effort into putting your sexualized fantasy version of the characters on paper is kind of strange.
No, I don't read "slash" and personally find people that write it creepy. _________________ A person's character is their destiny. |

'Healthy'/'unhealthy' may simply be calls of judgement if such a thing were to be even considered. Some good art on the 'deviant' `site, well worth it just for that alone. Drawing can be quite difficult, especially hands.
Keep it up, Kibate - it's muse-i-cal (but 'warnings' can sometimes be bait here & that's okay too..) |

the mistake is made when you assume anyone else is going to be a fan of your fan art. unless it's better than the original, keep it to yourself. _________________ ... |

Not that I am comfortable with the subject of the art but this mindless flaming is a bit annoying. Kibate should be free to express his/her feelings for sinfest through art without getting blasted by many of the older members of the forum. He/she has some skill as an artist and should be applauded for the effort, not shot down. _________________ Those who profess to favor freedom, and yet depreciate agitation, are men who want crops without plowing up the ground. -- Frederick Douglass |
