| Quote: | TIM: Follow! But! follow only if ye be men of valor, for the
entrance to this cave is guarded by a creature so foul, so cruel
that no man yet has fought with it and lived! Bones of four fifty
men lie strewn about its lair. So, brave knights, if you do doubt
your courage or your strength, come no further, for death awaits
you all with nasty big pointy teeth.
ARTHUR: What an eccentric performance. |

Dennis, no reason to be afraid of lil' old smeat.
Smeat, do you think you should be replying to everyone of my posts? (Not that there have been many)? I don't think it violates the restraining order, but I'd watch it if I were you.
Maniac, I wouldn't want to start a scandal either, but I'd be proud to be adopted by a kick-ass artist such as yourself.

| Wolfman, leave some noobies for the other people. You already got Van so you've used up your "adopt a cool newbie" points for at least half a year. |

| It really is for the best if some newbies are never adopted. That way, the social hierarchy is more easily determined. |

Too bad I'd have a tiny and squeaky little voice! I am feeling very excited about science these days. We have a project going to rapidly detect control regions in a genome of almost any organism. Essentially, we'd sort through 10s of millions of cells, each one with a random bit of the genome driving expression of a fluorescent reporter. We'd then pick the ones that glow in reponse to infection, or growth or starvation... whatever, and sequence the little random bit they hold. If you do that thousands of times, 'hits' would pile up at the places that act as control regions for the response you are interested in. You could then repeat the process in mutants for known control genes, and see how many of the control regions are affected by that. So we'd map out the regulatory network of many interesting cellular processes.
Feed me a little raisin and I'll tell you more.

Maybe a quick actual description of yourself and your hopes and dreams would help people decide.
Gotta keep up the replying to all your posts thing. _________________ Allowed to live by the good graces of Deleted, Shh.
