So I liked the strip, because I like Tat's fond and jokingly misogynistic view (I assume it's jokingly, because I love Tat).
I don't like the real misogyny it engenders in the readers, as shown above. "Women are dumb, hurr hurr hurr."
Let us test our respective capacity for deduction, shall we, phuemarley? My female brain against your male. I challenge you to a duel of wits, in the arena of your choosing. Because it is a duel of WITS it may not involve specifically acquired knowledge, and must be a test of basic logic, using Standard English as a testing medium.
[edit] Also, the Internet is Serious Business. Let's keep it to something that takes less than five minutes of our valuable time.[/edit] |

I haven't seen any implication of women being stupid, merely of other, harder to test flaws. _________________

| It would appear that we're still a bit sensitive given the "rape is only bad if you struggle" thread. There's no implied misogyny here, just a female character in a web comic that does not understand the rules of basketball. If you wish to extrapolate that to females as a whole, I refer you to the all the excellent basketball players in the WNBA and the collegiate basketball system who not only understand the rules very well, but could probably kick anyones ass here in a game of 1 on 1. |

Dear kame,
I wasn't being serious about a challenge of wits.
You lose this round.
Love,

By not being serious, I suppose you outwitted him? Clever.
I really like this strip, because it's amusing. I don't need to say more. |

Well, that's the last time I stand up for female basketball players. |

Hm, you're very right, I shouldn't have quoted the entirety of your entry; I actually only meant the first part.
I was distracted, and concede the point. Only, I wasn't being serious in the first place.
OH NOES, THE CUNUNDRUM. |

On that note, our (Canberra's) women's basketball team is pretty much the best in the league at present, given that we have players like Lauren Jackson, and by comparison, we don't even HAVE a men's team, they suck so much. We had one once, and they kept losing so bad that they lost sponsorship and it was bye bye Canberra Cannons.
But I don't really follow basketball a hell of a lot anyway. |
