Just a thought. Nominate some for mod duties so when trolls and spammers invade the sanctity of the forums they can be dealt with quickly.

I suppose that I would nominate Sam. He seems to be pretty reasonable. I just hope that he doesn't become drunk with power and subjugate anyone that he feels is a lesser being on the forum, ushering in a new era of oppression. Then there would have to be a resistance forming, as there's always one in these kinds of societies, engineering a new revolution for the downtrodden. The establishment and this group of rogues would have to have minor battles here and there, leading up to one large final confrontation where the resistance's poster boy goes up against Sam himself and emerges victorious yet dies too. Then the Sun rises and you see a rainbow over the horizon while a flock of doves flies off into the distance.

I don't really always go for moderation, but I could easily see Sam doing a good job. He'd know the difference between a troll like tatyana and someone like MaggieL. He's also a bigtime badass mod on another very large and popular forum, so I think the power wouldn't go to his head.

No to mods. Giving someone mod powers turns them into an absolute arsehole, and then people start making rules like "no personal attacks" and it all goes to hell.
