I, for one, am not thrilled by the use of screen tones. I completely love when Tat does purely black and white strips. They look so clean and fantastic. I wasn't worried about the gray in the manga parody, because yeah, they use gray all the time, but it's not a parody anymore, and I'd be happy if Tat stuck with his already perfected style.

Tat will draw his strip however he wants to and you'll like it, bitch.

Or maybe you won't, but I hardly think whining on this forum has a significant impact on his art. (at least it shouldn't, anyway.)

but what if tat were the manifestation of this forum's collective consciousness, and every day the strip is a representation of our current mental and psychic status... and all we are doing here is arguing with ourselves.

Yup, agreed. There are some things I don't like about some strips, but really, I just love the comic.

Give the dude some space. He's experimenting. Didn't you do that in college, or something?

As I see it, there's three possible ways:

z) After a while, he doesn't like it either. He goes back with the B/W stuff. Everyone's happy

y) He actually loves it, learns how to work it in the strips, and improves the heck out of them. At least I'm happy.

x) He actually loves it, but never learns how to work it and the strips become diarrea. We all stop reading them. Somebody is happy... I think...

Anyway, happiness all around.

I'm just glad he's moving forward. There's plenty of comics and artists that get stuck in their own comfort zones and end up producing the same crap for years and years. (Garfield, I'm looking at you here.)
