look, it's rather simple, really. no one can count to infinity. by definition it is impossible. take the largest number... maybe graham's number (G)... click on that and read about that number, and you'll see a equation there, or a representation of the number, of which it is said that...

Quote:
The first term is already inconceivably greater than the number of atoms in the observable universe, and grows at an enormous rate as it is iterated through the sequence.

so, that's a really honking number, right? now, do you know how far that is from infinity? you might as well just start counting one G, two G, three G, etc., like you would from one. you're no closer either way. IT GOES ON FOREVER!

so, my little joke there...

it's easy. one, two, three... infinity.

relies on your temporary acceptance of the impossible abstract concept that the ellipsis = all numbers between three and infinity... including pi.

My friend is in a Logic 400 level class, and one of the basic assumptions they have to make is that an infinitely fast person (like God) can count to infinity in a finite time.

you just take 1 second to count '1', half a second to count '2', a fourth of a second to count '3', and so on.

they then get to make sets that are mot only infinitely large, but bigger than infinitely large, in a way that cannot be counted.

weird stuff.

on topic, it is kinda nice to see a 'classic' sinfest strip again. I remember there were a couple strips a while back where sinfest made fun of self-referential artists. apparently tatusya is one too? Wink

I wonder if you guys overlooked it, but...

I think Panel 3 is the first glimpse we've ever had of Slick's eyes.

Hmmm... the little circles in the glasses? But the other panels show them as welll, and they are reflections of a light source. I think he is just looking at the light source in that angle. Or maybe I'm just not seeing it.

I'm voting on light effect as well, but I think it was a stulistic choice to make it mimic "surprised comic book eyes"

Well, I was going to suggest that now Slick goes on an ever more surreal quest until he finally meets Tat and they have a nice conversation in a drab-colored representation of the real world where Tat apologizes for not being able to write out Slick's life better and then sends him back, but thankfully the comic for the sixth brought on the funny.
