It is. That's the point - she's not one of the ones actually with Slick. And surely that's what he wanted?

exactly - he wants her totally crushing on him, but with no chance because he is covered with hot babes, and so she will be totally regretting not being nice to him when she had the chance.

That or maybe it's the idea that if he has other women on him, she will like him more. Something close to you always want what you can't have. She isn't sad or anything about it, she has hearts for eyes and is swooning over him.

Where's all the paperwork?

Those heart shaped clouds, are they from "god" saying, "I love you"?

With almost no dialogue it hard it's hard to know what's going on, like how does monique feel about this?

I don't know, maybe he was being irrational about it, just yelling anything he could think of: "I want women, and women, and Monique, and women, and more women, and women and Monique, and money!"

I saw this with my girlfriend, and it surprised me the fact that she and I got different interpretations of the same story. When I saw it, I thought it was clearly Monique's fault, because of her indifference to Slick, that drove him to selling his soul and etc. Women, in their sick game of "hard to get", don't care if they destroy a life or two in the process, and when they're confronted with what they did, they get mad and don't assume responsability.

When my girlfriend passed by and saw today's strip, she inmediately yelled: "typical of men, blaming women for their screw-ups!". She then grumbled something about Slick being a grown man capable of making his own decision, nobody drove him there, that men are weak and blame it all on women, and so on

I was stunned to see that, depending on the ponit of view, we were both kind of right.

I saw both points - Slick was trying hard with Monique in the beginning of the strip, but she spurned him, causing the deal with the Devil to happen. But then he saw his mistake, and Monique tried to comfort him - then he didn't take advantage of that affection, he instead blamed her, thereby compounding the problem. I guess this makes me somewhere inbetween.

Really? I ate an American televangelist once, and I never got any peanut butter.

No no no, you deliberately misunderstood him. You see, here in America our televangelists are eaten by peanut butter.

i thought slick never actually sold his soul any of the other times?

ab i really like that there's no dialogue in this one. words fail us all sometimes, and when you get them back, the first that come to mind often are the ones you least want to say to someone you care about.

poor slick.

I think that this one fell a bit short. It's a stunning plot advancement, and although it's hard to think of appropriate words for it, the thought bubbles (complete with chibi) and exaggerated expressions really don't cut it either. It seems to lose something deeply Sinfestian - the nuance, perhaps.

For having previously seen them as canon, or for no longer seeing them as canon?

No for actually saying that the Sunday strips aren't really canon. Which is pretty true.
