In my humble opinion, there has yet to be a more brilliant comic than Calvin and Hobbes.

The Far side is a good second.

*Cough*

What I'm sure you meant to say is that, after Sinfest, there has yet to be a more brilliant comic than Calvin and Hobbes.

lovely comic.... I've contemplated death many times but mostly I stay alive to quench the thirst of my video game addiction!

"man, I wish I were dead. But damn, if I die now imagine all the kick ass games I'd miss out on playing."

Yea, I am pretty pathetic!

I've found myself going through that thought process more than once.

Apparently not the only one either. Tat's once again struck a chord, I think.

The best Calvin and Hobbes strips were those in which C&H are careening down a wooded mountainside on their flimsy, semi-steerable wagon while contemplating subjects like free will vs. determinism, teleology, and absurdity. Of course, the best moment to reach an epiphany is always that moment when you happen to be falling over a cliff.

'Nique knows, but wants the slick that can be, not the slick that is. And a lot of the funny comes from the slick that is, to remove it would be to take a piece from sinfest.

You know, speaking as one who has gone through serious bouts of depression, none of which I begged to experience, I don't think calling people "emo kids" is very sympathetic or helpful. There is little anyone can say to help people in these situations, so perhaps not saying anything at all would be a better choice for those who don't know how to help.

Seriously.

just because you're bruised, if you think you won't get poked you might be in the wrong place

or perhaps you heal more poorly than you would like to think.

I'm not very sympathetic. A thread full of "OMFG I THINK OF DYING TOO ALL THE TIME" makes me less sympathetic.

Sorry if I'm not being helpful. Also, fuck you for being defensive. Noone begs for depression, and god knows I had a really bad one not far away from today, but I will say whatever I want to say if I feel like it. And I wasn't all "OMFG I WANT TO DIE" all over the place, because when I am fucked up, I keep it to myself instead of seeking attention or throwing my depression to the nearest fan to make it reach as much people as possible. Am I cold? Sure. Do I have no empathy? Probably. I know people that thought about killing themselves and actually some of them tried. A couple of them succeeded. So what. Cheer up, emo kids.

CHEER THE FUCK UP.

My original post was a tongue-in-cheek kind of friendly "PEOPLE PLEASE DON'T BE DEPRESSED, IT'S SILLY". This one is directed at you, TestTubeError, because you are calling me on my post. Please get depressed.
