I just saw this comic, and at first I did not get it. After some thought I think that the actual humor in this is how the Devil is so proud of his achivement of success and fame when all his fame comes from humans who are made in the image of God and are ultimatly beings of God as well as himself. The irony is that he is that all his fame is from another form of his polar opposite, and then could be said to be hollow.

That or, there really isnt any humor(none that I see anyhow >.>)

i think it's a few steps simpler than that.

satan's all "i'm cool; i'm so damned cool -- see how cool?"

and god's still, like, "satan's a dork, peoples r stoopid"

Turns out the idea of a "devil may care" attitude doesn't apply to the Devil himself, he cares very much what everybody thinks of him.

Devil's gesture in the last panel makes me wanna hug him =o The guy seems so...down, like being pulled out from disillusion.

Jesus and Buddha, sitting under a tree. Shootin' the breeze? I really want to know why they happened to be sitting there. What could they have been talking about?

... I liked this one. (I like most of 'em, though.)

Exactly, some higher power he is.

He is just as weak as the people he attempts to swindle.

Oh, and since when are we ACTUALLY made in the image of god?

What an idiotic concept.

I always figured "made in his image" was a reference to imagination and mental form (as world-shapers and if we survive long enough world-builders) as opposed to any given physical form.

But that requires us to be the only creatures that imagine and that's a LARGE assumption on my part.

I like the last panel. God ridicules the Devil's accomplishments and aspirations in such a way that he feels especially small and insignificant, just as he looks in the panel. It's great how everything he's worked for becomes instantly meaningless.

maybe it's me, but I don't see the mockery in the last panel. especially compared with the other times God mocks people.

I don't think it is mockery. In this case God doesn't need to mock him to deflate him, just to show him exactly what he's doing, which is prancing around like a retard because he thinks he's winning popularity contests.

EDIT: Thinking on it, God just said what Jesus and Buddha were too polite to say.
