Are you kidding?
Without that heat fan the slim PS2 was a damn hot plate.
Later, bulky models for the win. |

I sent my console in when that whole thing was going down and it was fixed. Never had a problem since.
If you play RPGs, or play for any kind of period of time, the slim PS2 is not for you. _________________ "I see no good reasons why the views given in this volume should shock the religious sensibilities of anyone." -- Origin of Species |

yeah, they had a recall, but It didnt apply to me for some reason or other.
something about purchasing it too early, or too late.

what actually pisses me off, is that I sent it in once, they repaired it for free.
they sent it back, but the warranty sticker was gone, and the serial number sticker was all torn up.
it worked for maybe a month.

what would RPGs have to do with it(besides being games that take a long time to play)?
I used to play for 1~3 hours at a time (kingdom hearts II, FFXII), I never really had a heat problem. and the PS2 was sitting on top of carpet.
I never have that sort of free time anymore, though.. _________________ Dad said "No! You will BE KILL BY DEMONS" |

I think hes just saying RPG's are generally meant to be played longer and for longer stretches of time. Back in highschool i would play for about 4-6 hours a day after school when i got a new game. That was average playtime. I wish i could remember the 40+ hour RPG i beat in 2 days back then. I think it might have been okage or something. Shit i was addicted to games when i was a kid. _________________ I couldnt think of anything smart to say. |

The marathon Marvel vs Capcom 2 sessions between myself and my boy Bomber would've killed a slimmer PS2. Several hour stretches of furious fisticuffs followed by down time in training mode so we could earn more points to unlock the rest of the characters.
2 1/2 full days without shut off in a small non air conditioned room in July and the damn thing was no where near as hot as the four hour power leveling stretch I put DV8's slim PS2 through.

I've gone on stretches of playing my slim ps2 for 8 hours, then leaving it running for 12, then playing for 12 more, then leave running, repeat for two weeks, without so much as a hiccup. |

| Either your room is ice cold and has a nice breeze flowing right by the system, or you're one of the few lucky ones. |

EDIT: Yeah, I'm a retard.
I still stand by the notion that Heavenly Sword and Lair best kick ass though.

I'm waiting for a better source, but it's looking like Kutaragi is bailing.

Well he fucked up. Let's hope that he did what he did because he really is incompetent. Fresh blood doesn't mean good. They need somebody solid with good, innovative ideas instead of fanciful ones. _________________ Before God created Las he pondered on all the aspects a woman might have, he considered which ones would look good super-inflated and which ones to leave alone.
