So, Riot has some matches up on VOD, the first one doesn't actually start until 45 minutes into the 50 minute video. Riot, Y U NO VIDEO EDIT? _________________ The older I get, the more certain I become of one thing. True and abiding cynicism is simply a form of cowardice. |

HOW TO XCOM a guide by SAM
number one: snipers and opportunist overwatch are your best friend in the entire game. Double tap eats face. Always have two snipers.
number two: dispense of groups and persisent uglies with double heavies. First heavy launches a shredder —
— second follows up with a regular rocket/bomb.
septuple kill-kill-kill-kill
number three: one heavy is on holotargeting duty. Have them shoot FIRST. It really doesn't matter for shit whether they hit or not, it makes your target food for the entire rest of the squad.
haha or you could hit anyway SURE.
number four: enemies always have more collective hitpoints than you do. priority one is to prevent them from whittling you down to killrange ever by holding them at bay with suppression and using smoke, for a collective something like minus 70 aim not counting physical cover.
With two suppresses and overwatch-on-fire, nothing's hitting that unless you let a heavy floater close enough to chuck a grenade.
number five: number four's point about collective hitpoints ceases to matter when you have two supports on your team, with six collective +10 hp heals. always have two supports. and yeah, you win with no casualties ever unless you play stupid.
number six: i am sure you have noticed this leaves no room for assaults. Well, too bad. They are certainly pretty rad in their own way, just not optimal for high level play. Have another picture of a sniper headshotting its second alien in a single turn, did i mention snipers are awesome~

On the one hand, I want to completely disagree due to the sheer badassery that is the move and shoot-super spotter-juggernauts that are assault characters.
On the other hand I haven't tried classic difficulty yet, so I'll get back to you on that.
Also: high level snipers with double tap and squad sight really are hilarious. _________________ The older I get, the more certain I become of one thing. True and abiding cynicism is simply a form of cowardice. |

Remake of the old school turn based tactics game, you take squads into the field to fight highly advanced aliens that are terrorizing Earth. Between missions you build a base, build your roster of grunts, manage an air force to detect and shoot down UFOs, and research new weapons and schtuff.
Like the original, it is turn-based, soldier death is permanent, and the fog of war is not your friend.
If you like games that require both strategic and tactical thinking, it's a damn good one. _________________ The older I get, the more certain I become of one thing. True and abiding cynicism is simply a form of cowardice. |

Also: WoW's new challenge modes are unreasonably fun. Five man dungeons that are harder than some raid content, and it scales your gear to a set level so you can't just cheese it with the next tier's new hotness. _________________ The older I get, the more certain I become of one thing. Yeah, 49 minutes, and we'll still the only group on Maly that's completed it. _________________ The older I get, the more certain I become of one thing. True and abiding cynicism is simply a form of cowardice. |

Last night my wife TALKED ME INTO buying a Final Fantasy game. Not sure if she's awesome, misguided, or trying to tell me, "maybe we shouldn't have sex for awhile." _________________ “Yields falsehood when preceded by its quotation”
