Feels way too much like when Steam pulled The WarZ. I mean, it's not that bad, but there are similarities: giant online distributor pulls game from sale as a result of angry fans, persistent server issues, and oh look, advertised features that aren't actually in the game in its current state.

So I have a friend who is finishing up a kickstarter for what will, I think, be a really, really cool concept for a game. Would it be bad form to post a link to the kickstarter (and/or, more helpfully, a few news articles helping show that yes, it is a real thing and not a scam?) Just trying to help him out, but I also understand it could be poor form.

The premise!:
Basically, my friend has taken an EEG headset and crafted a game where it is used as a periphal to power your abilities in the game. Your focus and calm (Beta/Gamma and Alpha brainwaves respectively) can power various psychokinetic abilities: Push, jump, deflect, pull, etc. It is, as he has joked, 'competitive meditation training': The better you can focus (or remain calm), the more powerful the abilities.

I've actually tried the basic framework of the game a year ago, and it works, and it's pretty damn cool. It's evolved a bit since then.

Oh man, I totally forgot about the kickstarter thread, sorry. Woulda mentioned it otherwise.

Anyway, video games.... hmmmm, yeah, I'm still playing Sims3 but I still haven't enrolled any of them into college yet.

Just to clear up any lingering confusion, EA isn't going to refund anybody who bought SimCity 5 through their digital store, and if you try to dispute the charges with your credit card company you will be banned from EA's Origin service.

I would really like to think that this is the tipping point which either forces a policy change or sees EA collapse on itself, but too many people still suck it up and ask for more abuse (i.e. they keep buying EA's games).
