If someone gave one to me for free, I'd probably try to use it as a little home server. |
If someone gave me one for free i'd sell it on craigslist and buy pop-tarts. _________________

I'd actually use it. If it included a TV and games to play. But then I have other console to play with. _________________ ::lesser crisis mode::

I wouldn't use it for games, but that's partly because the only gaming I ever do of my own volition is sporadically and briefly obsessing over some tower defence game or that candies game or something piddly like that. _________________ butts |

I'd probably use it for movies, really. Because I have no DVD player, which deprives me of the many fine films available at the public library for free.
I could finally finish Babylon 5. _________________ ::lesser crisis mode::

Um, there's some wicked awesome tower defense games for Android . . . _________________ ...if a single leaf holds the eye, it will be as if the remaining leaves were not there.

aaaaand I don't particularly care
I had an Android tablet in my care (not my possession) for most of a year and I only ever used it as an alarm/gps/thing_to_test_Android_applications_I_had_written_on.
Playing tower defence on a console doesn't really appeal to me either
it's just a maybe-once-every-three-months distraction to my usual computer activities _________________ butts |

On a somewhat related note, anyone have any experience with those $50 Android iPad ripoffs? _________________ The Thirties dreamed white marble and slipstream chrome, immortal crystal and burnished bronze, but the rockets on the covers of the Gernsback pulps had fallen on London in the dead of night, screaming. - William Gibson, The Gernsback Continuum |

They're never worth it. None of them will ever have anything approaching a screen that won't make your eyes bleed. |

Or a processor/RAM that doesn't handle like a 15-year-old driving a manual transmission. Stop. Go. Stop. Go. Die. Start. It's really hard to make a decent tablet under $100
and $200 is a better bet _________________ butts |

Man like I'd give OUYA a pass if its hardware ran shit better than present-day smartphones it was conceptually based on providing an alternative to. Or if the controller wasn't such a flimsy POS.
Even the PA-noted emulation bonanza is just unambiguously superior on the pc (surprise, surprise?) and you can use an xbox controller or whatsoever you fancy. |

I guess ouya isn't just meh, a lot of people really totally think it's bad
The SA Ouya thread:
Quote: | What is it about the MAMEBOX that creates an irresistable siren song for goons who want to play emulator games on their tv?
This thread has proven over and over again that the ouya has absolutely no redeeming qualities yet every 2-3 pages some hapless goon wanders in trying to convince himself that he should spend $100 on one of these stillborn turds to play 20 year old games on his tv when there are literally tens, if not hundreds, of posts that outline exactly why you shouldn't do that.
I'm convinced that the ouya's advertising could include the phrase 'absolutely shit for emulators' and there would still be goons trying to sell themselves on why an ouya is the perfect emu box for them. |

This confirms my fears the the emulation is crap on it. And there goes the only reason I would ever buy such a device. _________________ The Thirties dreamed white marble and slipstream chrome, immortal crystal and burnished bronze, but the rockets on the covers of the Gernsback pulps had fallen on London in the dead of night, screaming. - William Gibson, The Gernsback Continuum |
