Steambox seems pretty likely. Source 2 or Half-Life 3 seem less likely.

Though given the cat next to the controller on the announcement page, my guess is that Valve is going to be making games for cats. Also possibly for dogs.

All we know is that they have three announcements. One is dead certain to be steambox. The other two... I ain't gonna say nothing and risk jinxing it.

this is kind of big guys

If even one of the above is announced I'll have to go buy an inflatable Gabe Newell doll to properly express my feelings.

On the other hand, if HL3 gets announced, I will cut off and eat my left arm.

A Source2 engine would be pretty damn nifty too.

a lot of people are tying to decrypt the hint page.

the thing its going to be:

steam box

2 player co-op (same room)

steam OS? or a new game

this is all coming from the fact that Gabe said 3 announcements.

Well, there's reports that MS is looking to sell off Xbox . . .

Linux-based SteamOS confirmed.

The plan is apparently to have native support for "hundreds" of Steam games, plus in-home streaming from your non-LinuxOS gaming machine. Kind of like a private OnLive service.

And two more days until the next announcement.

SteamOS... depending on the details may be *exceedingly* tempted to make a little HTPC with SteamOS. I'm betting Wednesday will be the SteamBox, but there's so much fun in building your own... hrng my wallet will be crying.

That was a very vague and hard to decipher announcement.

The gist of it that I'm getting is it will be similar to XBMC (or RaspBMC) but with support for playing games.

If Valve can release a cheap box that lets you play steam games with respectable performance and still maintains the ability to mod games and such, it seems like this could be the point where the PC and console markets collide.

a friend of mind seems to be convinced they're making a raspberry pi based streaming box that links your tv and your pc. or an ouya type device.

i dont see the point in either so i think he's wrong, but i don't know how they'd affordably be making boxes...

going out on a limb here, but remember when you could install other OS on ps4? maybe...

SteamBox confirmed. There will be 300 beta machines sent out, and a mini-quest for eligibility, but there aren't any details as to cost or components yet. Multiple configurations by different manuracturers has been announced, so there's that.

I'm thinking same room co-op and a Steam controller. Yesterday's announcement hinted that tomorrow's would deal with input, the end of the FAQ hinted at a controller ("more on that later"), and the O+O symbol hints towards that as well.

I'm strongly leaning against any new games being announced, unless they copy a Steve Jobs "one more thing." Which would be funny, tbh.

Announcement 3 was indeed a Steam controller. It looks awesome. I want one.
