@Sam: I found this. People say it's not worth it though.

Just in case you need a third party recommendation to play Frog Fractions. I have no idea what, if anything, was added to the game in the year since that review. Regardless, it does interesting things.

I just want an ogre battle game. Not a tactics ogre, but an old ogre battle group combat system game.

don't actually read the review until you've played it, though, because knowing what was going to happen would have totally - well, mostly - ruined it for me

maybe lightly skim the review, idk

It's not really a game that has replay value, either. There are some things you can only figure out once.

Thanks to Shadowrun Returns, I now hate chance factors even more. How do you miss 7 times in a row?!?!?!?!111 With a gun I have to reload after two shots no less, gah.

did u kno

It takes anywhere from a a few days to a month to unlock all the normal achievements in that game without cheating, depending on how much attention you're willing to waste on waiting for golden cookies?

In the horrifically long endgame, one hour of clicking on the golden cookies that turn up while you watch cartoons or whatever is worth an entire day of just letting your buildings do their thing.

_____

I just simulated playing once a day for a month, <1min/day

it was *just* enough time to get most of the big stuff

I got everything but "let's never bake again," the golden cookie achievements, the true neverclick, and the one for buying the heavenly key

309 heavenly chips and 0 cookies
4 golden cookie clicks

__
then another month
it took just over two weeks to get close to the same point

667 heavenly chips after reset at the end
still didn't unlock the highest cps achievement
might need a wrath cookie Elder Frenzy for that

___
third month without spending significant time on any day waiting to buy stuff or hunting golden cookies

got to 115 antimatter condensers and 1558 total buildings

cps is 2.2e11 without a frenzy

still missing the last cps achievement and three of the golden cookie achievements, and unable to purchase all upgrades

Conclusion: Golden Cookies are the main distraction the post-grandmapocalyptic endgame of Cookie Clicker provides, and they could have sped this up significantly, but I don’t have time for ‘em

3 months of lazily playing v1.0383 = 1077 heavenly chips

I've started playing Dwarf Fortress again. I guess I must be a glutton for punishment.

When I saw the link to cookie clicker I immediately lost about three hours playing it again. It was not satisfying. Sad

It's still being updated.

and it taps into that same nightmarishly addictive grinding-for-cash/xp/levels/cookies/whatever thing as Warcraft et al

I hadn't watched that video in years, but it seems other people were reminded of it, too, and now all the comments on it have to do with Cookie Clicker.

Huh.
