the next step is to grab exact figures from the game code and put it all into a system of differential equations

fully optimized gameplay! 4% more effective than simply focusing on buying time machines with a few cursors on the side!

Is it worth resetting for heavenly chips? Do the buildings you have bought also count for the cookie total?

1) yes, if you have many many trillions of cookies and want to get even more, or especially yes if you just want to collect chips, or if you are horribly addicted enough to be interested in replaying the game faster

I think I reset too soon, though

2) no, sell your buildings first

Sold my grandmas, got an achievement (lawl). Are cursors also considered people?

I don't know what you mean by that

but if you can get some trillions of cookies out of the cursors then they're worth that, at least

and referring to you as "it" and "nasty thing," and saying you betrayed her, yes

very vindictive

The not so inner Diamond in me can't let it go.

BTW, if you have even the the slightest notion of being a game designer in a multiplayer environment with roleplaying elements, this is requisite reading. Published 17 years ago, I first read it when I got into MUD's and I can't believe how applicable it still is: http://www.mud.co.uk/richard/hcds.htm

Which lead to the creation of the Bartle test: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bartle_Test

While not perfect nor complete, it's a good tool none the less.

Also, here' s the test itself : http://www.gamerdna.com/quizzes/bartle-test-of-gamer-psychology

Oh and here's a good examination of it (which includes links to other papers):

http://gamedev.tutsplus.com/articles/game-design-articles/bartles-taxonomy-of-player-types-and-why-it-doesnt-apply-to-everything/

As well as a tl;dr version:

Quote:
An easy way to remember the four categories of MUD players is to consider suits in a conventional pack of cards:
Achievers are diamonds (they’re always seeking treasure).
Explorers are spades (they dig around for information).
Socialisers are hearts (they empathise with other players).
Killers are clubs (they hit people with them).

it's also worth keeping in mind that cursors wouldn't be quite so effective without all those other useless buildings (hundreds of farms etc), since they scale with non-cursor buildings, so the value of cursors is overestimated here, and time machines are even more dominatingly effective than illustrated

It's really only worth doing the first time before you reset because of the achievements you get from it (which translate into more milk, which coupled with kittens gives you a nice boost, aside from achievements being dope anyway).

After reset I just tried to get to time machines as quick as I could and then forgot about the rest.

Cookie total for heavenly chips is your total baked cookies, so there is no point in selling them.

But it is worth it for the shadow achievement of resetting with cookies, which is based on the amount of cookies you have in the bank.

Time for new calculations:

Also, new achievements :

There's also new upgrades, including a new kitty and grandmas getting efficiency doubled again (yay anti-grandmas)

yup. I'm enjoying the random level generation a bit, but it encourages you to save whatever level you generated cause a lot of the challenges require certain skillsets or classes (which are also random) so if you're a completionist type player, it can take a while to get everything.

so far though i just played until i got all the money multiplayers, and as long as i can buy upgrades everytime i die its still fun

a lot of things are really glitchy, at least in the version I have, but you can tell the developers were feeling inspired by multiple things.

i really want to mod this game though, they went to town on the magic abilities but you never get weapon choices other than a sword
