Subtle.

Incidentally - finally a date Americans and the rest of the world can agree on!

The man makes a point, he also makes a compelling argument.

yah, most guys think of themselves as lo-maintenance Laughing

somehow I'm intrigued by her bag - today it looks odd, but before it might have had a sketchbook in or a mini-notebook or . . I mean besides the usual girlie stuff (although I'd hazard not too much of that).

. . careful, Slick - she's fully capable of throwin' ya down . . I remember that p1 look from 'bak in the day'

I have a few female friends who have sort of single-shoulderstrap bags like that, they're a good idea really since you can keep uni books and such like in them.

That aside, she looks cute in the first panel. And good ol' Slicky.

I love Mr Ishida's tagline. It so happens that when Geekboy calls me on my cellphone, the ring is Mighty Mouse singing "Heeeere I come to save the daaaaaay!" (-:

Kinda shoots himself int he foot in the last panel though Sad Poor Slick

Of course I am interpreting needless as superflous in the context, but I suppose the expression is not used regularly just like it is used here? I was surprised to see a pun escape for 9 whole posts, then realized it might have been my own kinda broken english that helped me see a joke?

no, i got it - it's sort of a double-take joke, you read over it, and then you go "wait - _what_ did he say?"

poor slicky - he's working so hard to seem low-maintenance, he's moved himself right out of the picture.
