Music about bitter lovers sucks now, not because the message is any less true or any less close to home... but because most bands blow nowadays.

No. Really the message sucks, too. I quite like some of the more recent bands, if they can manage to sing about something less cliche.

Only those shitty top 40s bands sing about romance, listen to some better underground music.

I would listen to the Beatles sing about unrequited love. Justin Timberlake...not so much.

and Brain.Damage is right; a lot of underground/indie music delves into other tops then "She doesn't love me," some of which is quite bizarre.

I'm sorry, you fail at arguing.

My origional point: I'm sick of bad songs about unrequited love.
Your origional point: Recent music about unrequited love only sucks because it is recent.
Clarifying my point: Recent music sucks when it all it talks about is unrequited love. I quite like recent music that talks about other things.
Your... point?: Only popular recent music sings about unrequited love, you need to listen to better underground music.
Random person chimes in: underground/indie music delves into more than just unrequited love.

Now. You see where we sort of got off track here? Telling me to listen to better recent music doesn't really drive your point home because I JUST SAID I RATHER LIKE RECENT MUSIC THAT DOESN'T TALK ABOUT UNREQUITED LOVE. And also, you're pretty much going against what you said about recent music about unrequited love sucking -only- because its recent when you tell me that really, there is good recent music as long as it is 'underground' and isn't about unrequited love.

So, I hope I have clarified myself well here, because your argument really makes you sound like a flighty idiot. Either you totally forgot your origional point in the hopes of making me look stupid or... well, you just suck at arguing.

PS: Music about unrequited love still sucks.

But do you at least like good songs about unrequited love?

You know Cowboy Junkies?

I need to get more of their stuff. I wish I had speakers that could do her voice and the bass justice.

I don't think you really needed to make a post that long just so you could tell me that you just hate love songs in general.

My point was that recent bands have failed at being romantic and have just become bitchy, so in my eyes that's the only reason why someone would get annoyed with unrequited love songs.

But hey, if you really really really need to write me a full page bitch fest then go for it.

Its kind of interesting though, I wrote all that and you still didn't get it. I was going to try to clarify, but it isn't worth it, I've already written it all out with extra detail and it still blew over your head.

(Also guys, thanks for the suggestions but I really can't stand country music, it is one of the first things I think of when I think of unrequited love music.)

If I missed anything, it was probably because I didn't read your post.
