I really don't like this comic. Two panels of only scenery changes to supplement a lame pseudo-deep statement, with mediocre art? Bleh.

Huh? Pooch changes in each frame just like the background.

Hmmm... I've got disagree with you, I think he pulled this one off perfectly, even if you don't see it as "deep" it is truth.

i found this mildly depressing, from Pooch's perspective Sad Poor pup, sitting there all year round watching life walk itself into a circle

This is probably my favorite comic of the last 3-4 months. Despite secrets opinion i think it's quite well done.

I think "For Better Or For Worse" has done this better.

Or was it Calvin and Hobbes?

Well.. it could always be pooch goes out there once in a while to see if anything has changed. Its just that to us it seems like he is out there constantly watching the tree or life, if you want to get metaphorical about it, go on.

fourth panel "change" "change" "change" is overkill. ruined the whole effect of what I imagine was supossed to be a subtle strip.

I see how it could have that effect, but it was a reference to the first caterpillar strip, bringing things around full circle.
