on second viewing - maybe (since she's a falsetto and all) she's hearing on dog wavelengths? note she seems to be responding to something to her left (while slick is to her right). so she's more tuned in to people with higher voices, hence different wavelengths...yeah, too much explanation.

Mouse's explanations fits my understanding of the strip as well, with the one exception that I think the girl pretends not to hear Slick, and he plays along. She also looks directly at Slick, even if she pretends to listen to someone in the other direction. That girl and I can't be the only ones ever that has tried to play that practical joke on someone Smile

I'll also add this Tat established in a previous strip that people in the Sinfest universe can watch each others speakbubbles, although this is only a way to play out a joke that relies on audio in a purely visual medium.

The tagline "the wild boy of Aveyron" - I did not get that at all though.. I googled Aveyron, but only found a place in France? Wikipedia made me none the wiser.

BECAUSE!!!

There's meaning in everything. Everything to everyone, it's your life and you can do what you want, Can't please everyone so you've got to please yourself, Tat must be reading the forums otherwise how could he possibly have made a strip JUST LIKE WHAT WE WERE JUST TALKING ABOUT, you don't know what it's like to be like me, the interesting rhythmic devices which seem to counterpoint the surrealism of the underlying metaphor, look how that tree branch is shaped it's obviously supposed to be a sexual metaphor, I can't read your tiny font.

There's meaning in nothing. Nothingness, all I have to show is my loneliness, nothing in the attic 'cept an empty chest, and nothing lasts forever, use of negative space, it's not there anymore which must mean something, look I know there was a table there a minute ago and you're not going to make me believe it was never there I'm not hallucinating dammit I'll cut you!, just because it's only a picture of the cat on the wall doesn't mean it's not out to get you, out of the corner of my eye, well how else am i going to account for the last twelve days of my life if I *wasn't* abducted by aliens ...

Given the spelling it's that place all right. And from being there once, I can testify it's remote and quaint, scenery is lovely though (and food great), as would be Dorothy's Kansas; hence my first comment.

Aha! Your first post never made sense to me, but now I reread it three times, and then I spotted that it had a subject.

Ah well, good that I am not the only one who did not get it

You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means.
