AND if two doesn't work, try it again with three pills. If two does work, try it with one. Then you will have a baseline for what works for you (semisoft cheese requires more than typical cheese and about the same amount as a small yogurt or so... at least for me).

They have the same active ingredient (lactase) as Lactaid, which makes sense, because whatever you call it the important thing is to hydrolyze lactose (which is what lactase does). The difference is in how it's measured - weight (mg) or activity (food chemical codex [FCC] units). Unfortunately, the two aren't interchangeable. The GNC one doesn't have mannitol in it, though, which some people are sensitive to (it's a sugar alcohol, a lot of people don't like them).
