I've recently been using my free time to hone my cooking skills, such as they are. I'd be interested to know what everyone's favorite recipes are. I'll share some of my own as well if there is any interest in the topic.

Damnit... That's what I get for not paying attention. I'll report for a flogging later. :-/ Thanks for being cool about it.

They get used to them.

Heck, after a while they start to like 'em.

Next thing you know, they can't really . . . "function" without one. ;-p

Bah, flogging is nothing once you've been through Captain's Mast - which was once upon a time being tied to the mast and beaten, but is now a ceremony where the captain tells everyone how horrible a person you are, then gives you a punishment. (Like Thanksgiving, only more organized.)

Actually, in the U.S. Navy, "Captain's Mast" is the term used to describe non-judicial punishment under Article 15 of the UCMJ. The Marines call it, "Office Hours," and us lowly grunts in the Army just call it an, "Article 15."

No doubt, that history is where the Navy gets the term they use, but it's not simply a public berating.
