Yay! I might be able to help. x3 Admittedly, I'm no fashionista, but I do like to think I know a thing or two (ie, I'm a Project Runway addict). ^^

You can never go wrong with faded jeans and vintage tshirts. For the summer, surfer swimshorts with boxer-briefs underneath and surfer tshirts. Shoes: converse and normal flip flops.
Dressing men is so much easier. |

I was thinking about buying some new shoes soon. I've always liked the way converse looked but the whole thing with nike buying them and sweatshops blah blah bothers me.

Nike still uses sweatshops?
I thought Nike bought the shoes from these places and then just managed the labelling and marketing. |

A really simple good looking shoe is Adidas' Samba indoor soccer shoes. Black with three white stripes on each side, they are very sleek.

It sounds like you're doing fine, actually. ^^ Just make sure everything you wear fits you properly. When stuff fits you well, your proportions are visible and your natural good-lookingness shows through.

You just got +5 sexy points for giving a damn. <3 I do think the sweatshop thing is in the past (at least, I haven't heard about it lately). Luckily, I'm still wearing the Cons I got before Nike bought them out, so I have yet to consider the dilemma. They're really such a classic... You can't go wrong with them.
Whee, a doodle, because I like doing this stuff. If I were dating you, these are the kinda things I would buy for you...
Colors are really just your preference, unless you have a reddish complexion (avoid warm colors - they make you look pink), or are Italian/olive-skinned (greens and yellows could be dangerous...). Try to keep one article of clothing the main focus. Keep the pants neutral (as noted) to keep the attention where it belongs (mainly on your face, not your crotch or ass).
