So since sex and alcohol makes you happier than studying.
It must have been pretty depressing to the scientist who did this research, as the research basically told them they aren't as happy as people who are getting drunk and fucking around.
On serious note, happiness and well-being are two different things.

I was doing some research on something peripherally related to sex one time and came across an article describing research by someone else that involved collecting descriptions of sexual fantasies from thousands of people and then categorizing them. The author said something to the effect of, "boy did I pick the wrong line of research!"

In a misguided effort to teach me to have a functioning sex drive, failed-boyfriend #5 gave me a book that was supposed to be a very diverse collection of women's fantasies.
Attempting to be a good sport, I managed to get through maybe a third of it. I had to stop because it was really -really- obvious the author had a thing for bestiality AND all the ones that didn't freak me the fuck out were boring as hell.
I guess to each their own. Maybe it would have been better reading about them when they weren't being filtered through somebody else.

I've never read the original research myself, but from what I understand the, uhh... taboo fantasies are apparently pretty common. I don't know exactly how common, though. Anything more than "rare" probably surprises some people.
Sex is interesting... But apparently I'd be better off getting laid than looking into it.

this is the part where I don't post the link to the Law and Order SVU/Mean Girls fanfiction I found.
I have been reading probably more Law and Order crossover fiction than is healthy and invariably it doesn't even involve characters having sex. The bizzareness is more to do with Horatio Cane revealing the actress who played the Yellow Power Ranger didn't actually die and is happy to see all her Power Rangers friends again. |

Crossover fic is awesome exactly because its so utterly bizarre. Nothing has beat the Ninja Turtle\MLP fic I found (long before FiM was a thing) in which the Shredder decends into sugar filled madness.
