I want to talk about how employers treat employees over there... the lady that runs my hospital would probably run me down in her car just to increase business. I want a boss that gives a damn how long it takes me to get to work. Razz

Given what happened at his last job this is just karma averaging out, but still, great news.

Fix'd that for you Wink

As best as I've been able to deduce, people don't necessarily start out this way, but it's a result of US corporate culture. Wen your boss' boss doesn't seem (how they are perceived is what matters in the end) to give a damn, and their boss doesn't seem to give a damn, well, that's why it can feel like a whole corporation doesn't give a damn.

Oh shit, Shadowcell's 25? It's my fault for not keeping up, but I thought he'd be about 22. Happy belated, man.

Passed my Organic Chemistry and my Physics midterms, both of which I thought I had failed.

I don't have any cats. At least not in my current home.

Unless, I think Dazed just called me a pussy...

Haha, no way ded. It's just my dog will go right out of his way to chase a cat. He's even been known to climb trees, I should never of taught him how.

How did the meet go?

I had been struggling to find a place to live within easy distance of my new job because the village the pub is in is quite affluent. After discussing my budget with my employer she volunteered to pay the difference between my budget and any nearby homes. So I went from constant commute & headaches, to £600 wage increase & a nice place TWO MINUTES WALK from my job!

Awesomesauce Mr.G.

I have a Kalashnikov. Best birthday present ever. I love my wife. Also my in-laws, who actually enabled it.

Now I need to actually find some ammunition, and a place to fire it...

I'll have you know, this one was imported during the Clinton years. Thus, it was a thumbhole stock instead of a pistol grip, it can't mount a bayonet, and I even have some five-round magazines. So it's perfectly safe for children!

And then the corporations bitch that, why, no one has any company loyalty anymore, and how DARE they jump ship for a better offer as soon as one comes along!

And they do this without a hint of irony.

For the last several years my work has either not given anyone COLA raises (previously done annually), or has given us meager 2% increases when people started leaving in droves after three years of stagnant wages (last year).

The year before last, when no one got raises, the CEO got a $300,000 bonus on a salary of $500,000.
