So, good fair this year. I got to see a 6foot tiger back his nutsack up to the chain link fence of his enclosure and piss all over the line of fat rude american stereotypes that were jeering at him from the other side.

If they were true American stereotypes they would sue the zoo into giving them money and putting the tiger down.

On an unrelated note, I will be meeting Polly Matzinger this weekend! There are also talks of Bill Nye in the future, if we can afford it.

Maybe if they all weren't clustered up against a fence with several signs that read

"Caution, tigers can spray up to 30 feet"

I just made a (crappy) side-scrolling shooter! Never even tried making a game before this. I'm pretty psyched about it; the tutorials I found were pretty easy to follow, and I learned some coding as well! (Coding is something I've been wanting to learn, but usually it's too boring to keep my attention.)

It is cool to go from knowing nothing about making video games to having a finished one in a couple hours.

Interesting, I am program for a living and I never made a game (a real time game) , I am stuck in boring world of business applications. Smile

So please expand, what did you code it in? Did you use some sort of a framework? Can it be seen/downloaded anywhere?

I used Gamemaker. You can download a limited version and play around with it. There are tutorials on youtube for it.

I can't upload my game anywhere, but it's basically a stick figure shooting torches at unlit pumpkins. I can maybe try to get pictures of t tomorrow.

I've heard of it..
What's your experience with it, I mean does it have a lot of scripting options, or it limits you to what you do.

and please do get pictures.

IT LIVES.

Haven't printed anything with it, but the printer is put together and currently running test dry runs to make sure everything is working correctly. I'm quite pleased with it.

My experience isn't big, since I haven't used it long, haven't made games elsewhere, and am also pretty new to coding too. If you download it and look at the help file, you'll be able to see every code that you are able to enter, with a description of what it does.

Here is the first in a series of tutorials I am following, which provides step by step instructions:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hzMNunoPd0o&sns=em

He covers how to do things with the functions provided by the game, and then covers how to do those same things by coding.

I'll try and figure out how to do screen grabs on my computer, otherwise I can take pictures with the iPad.

will you now be making us all guns? i understand you can get plans for stuff like that, on the interwebs.

although i'm not sure if you can also get plans for bullets. that would appear to be a flaw in the system.

I'm sure these would be a better gift than guns:
