I'm totally counting all my eggs in one basket with this, but the wife found a job with lots of openings, good pay, requires a bachelors in a field she has her masters in, and is work from home (mostly).
I really hope this pans out, I would love to see her doing something she enjoys rather than what she is doing now for far less than she should be. |

Ask, and ye shall receive, albeit about 2 weeks later.
The 10mm wrench is damn near perfect (+/- 0.1mm), the Empire State building turned out okay for such a small print (it's only like 3 inches tall), and the Bioshock logo turned out beautifully. Tomorrow I'll give it a sanding and try to paint it up similar to the original logo:
But yeah, 3D printer is great and with 2 and a bit kilos of printing material I'm good to go for a while now. Time to raid Thingiverse and print out ALL THE THINGS. _________________ The Thirties dreamed white marble and slipstream chrome, immortal crystal and burnished bronze, but the rockets on the covers of the Gernsback pulps had fallen on London in the dead of night, screaming. - William Gibson, The Gernsback Continuum |
If you listen to the proclaimers "I'm gonna be" on the ISS you'll have travelled about a 1000 miles.
I am apparently an awesome net worker... for other people.
I can't get a new job lead for myself, but I've found like 5 people in the past week or so that have contacts for my wife, in inadvertently got the guy at my lab a job offer, and got a doctor here interested in the lab I work with.
Come on karma train, I got my ticket! |

I should have you look for me. I've decided to leave my company by the end of the year. Went to an acoustic open jam last night and performed again.
Here's a snippet
Disclaimer: recorded on a smartphone, so turn your volume down a bit. Also, being an open jam, the musical experience on stage is a mixed bag.
I don't think I'm a great singer, but I had fun and didn't suck. |
