recipe is probably pretty standard

I don't measure ingredients so idk
I just sort of guesstimate how much of everything is needed proportional to how many eggs I'm using

mostly I've just been playing with how I change the temperature while the pancake is cooking

been starting it out at "sizzling" when the batter is first poured and then immediately turning it down

otherwise I've just been doing pretty much what I've always done

probably

I don't make pancakes all that often and I don't take notes on my cooking so I don't know if I'd notice any changes in my process that would contribute to fluffiness

My daughter told me she wants to learn her letters so she can write a story for her friends at school. This is both the most words she's ever used in a sentence and the first time she was really interested in working on her letters. She did 4 ABCMouse lessons in a row and then practiced her name. She still cant write the letters but she is trying really hard. Because she wants to make her friends a story.

Excuse me a moment, I seem to have something in my eye.

Also, nice having Sinfest back.

So you know how, at some point in your life, you stop learning about new cool things? Like how my grandfather has a record player because they give the best sound, and a wood stove because they give the best heat (whatever that is), and hates every truck that isn't a late 70's Ford?

That's how I am with video games. I played GTA for the first time the other day, and I spent the whole time just driving around like a bat out of hell, and whenever I crashed I blamed it on the catalytic converter (you totally don't need those!).

That's pretty much how I play GTA, Saint's Row, any other open world game like that.

I need direction in my life or I sand box until I get bored.

Every now and then I would try to actually follow traffic rules in GTA and it never failed to amaze me how difficult it was.

Like, I drive reasonably all the time in real life, why is it suddenly difficult to NOT swing around this asshole and run over a few pedestrians?

After a while I just... stopped. Stopped playing the game entirely. I wasn't entirely comfortable in that headspace, and you can only run over so many pedestrians before it gets kind of boring. (the actual story line had no appeal whatsoever)

Holy cow, this dude is taking forever to turn.

Let's see how he likes shotgun on his brake lights. Oh, now he's driving! Now it's a game!

*chase*

Then the police come, the fascist pigs attack me and I have to defend myself.

Now I'm dead and unarmed. This game is stupid anyway.

- I went to a local drop-in improv group today, and it was awesome. Everything went well, and I enjoyed myself. I definitely think this is going to be the key to getting over my social anxiety problems.

- Someone from a local organization that helps start-up support groups got back to me tonight about starting a free therapeutic improv group. I didn't expect to hear back from them today or for them to be interested, but they really are, and they were really excited about the idea.

So these are very good! But of course now I've come down off the "WOOH DOING AWESOME THINGS" high, and anxiety is trying to convince me things went badly. Whatever, brain. Sad
