I finally got the big iMac connecting to the internet, I had given up on using it because nothing I did seemed to make it want to cooperate. Turns out turning Airport off then on again somehow fixed everything? Now I can draw and animate on a decent-sized screen.

(And no I couldn't really use it without internet, the animation program I use requires an internet connection to verify the license and it isn't something that can really be torrented.)

After working all morning and being stressed out someone made a post about Bob Ross on Facebook and it inspired me to spend two hours this evening watching him paint happy little trees. Best way to relax ever!

What's this? Anti-piracy measures yet again ruin things for legitimate users, encouraging piracy by adding a serious problem to the program that would not be present in a cracked version!?

This is so surprising it deserves celebration!
WOOOOOOOO~

I recently made a similar argument when I tried to buy a copy of the Lion King for someone, only to find it was "in the vault." Meaning US-based websites can't sell new copies until Disney says they can. Meaning you should just go torrent it.

Yeah, since my daughter was born I have been picking up all of my Disney favorites when they are re-released on blu-ray. The most recent animated classic out of the vault was The Jungle Book. I'm not a huge fan, though, so I didn't pick that one up. The vault thing really sucks. You can purchase the movies used (ebay), but the price is often jacked up ridiculously high.

Buddy Guy at the Operahouse, then Lion King the musical. A good way to celebrate our 5th anniversary.

Let's see, I had a birthday a few weeks back. Went on a road trip to St. Louis with some friends a week ago which included the City Museum, the Zoo and a game of MLP Monopoly. Oh, and just prior to my birthday was my first paid gig as a musician which went very well.

There is a special kind of happiness known only to those who sip sherry while reading on a Sunday afternoon.

- I'm alive!
- been busy with writing, on the third draft of a short YA novel
- I have a newer virgin mobile that doesn't,t seem to malfunction (wtf, how did that happen?)
- making jewelry to bring to a steam punk festival
- Learned how to make pretzels
- Comcast replaced our ancient router and modem, which finally died

Dealing with a lot of social overload (and anxiety as a result) plus the internet has gone all awful. So I will not be around as much, not sure for how long,

I accepted a job offer yesterday! Just a 1 year contract for now, which is kind of perfect for my situation, but the pay is good enough and the work sounds interesting. I'll be working in a training department, updating content on their internal site, responding to emailed questions and light tech support relating to continuing ed.
