Heard back from our rental place. We get to keep chickens! Very Happy

Also, my new dedication to scheduling is already helping me get hordes more stuff done, even with being tired and having interruptions.

Setting up mental health first aid training for some colleagues who work in emergency rooms. Which isn't exciting in itself unless you recognize how little mental health training most ER staff have and how scared most of them are of mental health patients, mostly due to lack of knowledge and training. So it's really a win-win to get people to sign up for these things.

I've been told by my admissions counselor if I train to be a mental health nurse I can basically pick my salary/job for the most part. It is amazing how little MH training most medical staff have

Job, maybe. Salary, probably not. Here most of the hospitals are union, and even those that aren't follow the pay scales of the union hospitals. So you get about the same pay at any hospital. Non-hospital jobs pay less. Since most people are terrified of psych patients there's definitely less competition for the jobs, so it just depends how many schools there are putting out graduates in your area. More schools means more competition.

Anyway, if you like the population, psych RN is about the best pay to school ratio.

Looks like those courses are really inexpensive. I will try to take one sometime, even though I don't work in medicine.

Not that many unionized hospitals here in Florida. And a bunch of schools down here but only 3 are reasonably well regarded per some HR departments that I've talked to. Funny how that works

Hubby is a psych RN. He really likes it. Currently, he works the Alzheimer's unit at a nursing home. So remember that as a possible job possibility for psych RNs too. Most nursing homes around here have no nurses on staff with much mental health experience.

I will tie sparkly ribbons to the chicken's feet, and we will all do a dance for your entertainment.

I would offer to name one of our chickens the welsh word for Mouse, but I've been asked to pick something that is easy for everyone to pronounce. The word is llygoden, so no dice.
