That's a Thanksgiving tradition on our classic rock station. In fact a casual Googling shows this to be the case for almost any classic rock station.

you should check out some of his later protest songs. there's one he wrote when the watergate thing was blowing up - as i recall, it starts:

you said you didn't know
that the cats with the bugs were there
and you'd never go along
with that kind of stuff no where
well that just isn't the point, man
it's the wrong wrong way to go
if you didn't know about that one - then what else don't you know?

substitute "russia" for "bugs" and we're pretty much current.

it ends with a message the dear leader may have to learn the hard way:

you're the one we voted for
so you're the one to blame
for handing out authority
to men who are insane.

I made late night hummus with some cucumber sticks to dip with. I know I am kind of tooting my own horn here, but my god, this might possibly be the best I've ever made my hummus. It's the right consistency, the right flavour (I mean I had no tahini but that's fine), the right everything. I just ate it all and I have no regrets, except wishing I had bought more chickpeas.

No pleasure, no rapture, no exquisite send greater

than central air.

My yearly dose of scientific loonyness delivered again:

Ignoble awards 2017

That someone had the mindset to envision the worthy question 'Can a cat be both a solid and a liquid ?' just made my day.

There is hope for us hoomans.

that paper is brilliant. it even points out that cats are capable of achieving a gaseous state!
Quote:
Older cats may have a shorter relaxation time (τ), and thus become liquid more easily than agitated kittens, for which τ can reach values as high as a few hours. The assumption of incompressibility may also fail for older cats, which can acquire gaseous properties like in Fig.1c-d.

(the paper notes that by definition, liquids maintain a fixed volume but adapt to fit the shape of the container, while gases fill whatever volume is available. anyone who has attempted to contest a cat for space on, say, a chair or bed will recognize the gaseous nature of cats immediately.)

i have hopes that this award will stimulate further research into cats, such as their variable relationship with gravity (e.g., to explain my personal observation that at a cat nominally massing 3.6 kg can have an apparent weight of anything from 0 to 30+ lb). if this is done, i am sure it will turn up in AIR.
