Shortbread, and getting 91.5% on my Computer Science final. I've failed my calculus course, but I've passed Chemistry, Physics and Computer science with a A-/B+ average. All I'm waiting for is my English mark.
Hooray I haven't totally failed University yet. _________________ Ask not what you can do for your country, ask what your country did to you |

It's snowing. I can't remember the last time there was snow at christmas. also, my yearly tradition of holiday family conflict stressing me out so much that the resulting migraine is so severe that it lands me in the ER for an early christmas present of iIV dilaudid continues. merry christmas, self, you're welcome. _________________ Formerly Green_Finn

| We hit our goal at work a week before the ultimate deadline. No one, especially me, thought we could. |

Physical therapy update: The orthopedic doctor did a ~4 week eval. He was so impressed with my progress that he doesn't think he needs another eval after the physical therapy. I am still in pain but it is quite a bit less than before and there is measurable progress. I am supposed to continue with the physical therapy until I am better and only call him for another appointment if something goes wrong.
It was fun - he did the leg resistance test again (you lay down and lift your leg then the doctor pushes on the leg while you resist to see what happens - healthy legs resist just fine, my unhealthy legs fell like you pushed over a 3 year old's block tower). This time I passed! I even learned why - when the muscle is so messed up, the brain will just turn off the nerves that let you resist. That is totally what happened when my knee was messed up too - it would buckle when I walked but there was no pain. So yay learning and getting better! _________________ Before God created Las he pondered on all the aspects a woman might have, he considered which ones would look good super-inflated and which ones to leave alone.

I successfully reproduced!
Little girl was born yesterday morning, 10lbs+ with a massive head. She was very nearly born in the car - our hospital check in time was 7:25, official birth time was 7:30. And since the midwife didn't make it to the hospital in time, the doctor who delivered her happened to be the guy who lived across the hall from me in college. _________________ I come from Downtown, born ready for you / Armed with skill and determination / And grace, too |

Yay, congrats Vox! Sounds like it was a bit stressful but I'm glad it worked out okay and she was delivered safely. _________________ Samsally the Gray |

Sitting at home with my wife, watching Archer on Blu-ray, and ringing in our first New Years as a married couple.
Also, staying at home means neither of us has to drive, which means we can both drink. Champaign with frozen strawberries for her, a peaty scotch for me. We have very different tastes... _________________ “Yields falsehood when preceded by its quotation”

Yes, that is a bruise on her cheek. The delivery was so fast it left her with a couple of bruises and some swelling (but the swelling had gone down significantly by the time this picture was taken).
She actually doesn't really look like an alien in this picture. Newborn babies are not very pretty in person (but they smell great!). _________________ I come from Downtown, born ready for you / Armed with skill and determination / And grace, too |
