My sister got engaged!
In an interesting turn of events, my best friends sister, who is basically my sister, also got engaged.

They both swore up and down they would never marry.

I do my best to be clear in my meaning when there is any ambiguity involved. At least, that's what I do that if leaving it ambiguous isn't hilarious.

I've been able to keep my training discipline. Swam two 800 meters one hour sessions last week in the Mediterranean . Swam one this week. And before that, once a week in the pool for 3 weeks went from 26 20 m laps to 42. Of course swimming in the sea means even better training, more resistance in the water. Will have to swim in the sea here too for about a month when the pool is closed. I aim for 3 times a week. In the fall I willl start with yoga once a week too. And, starting next week, I intend to alter my diet, cutting out pizza, pasta, bread, rice and potatoes. Replacing with carrots, cucumbers, cauliflowers, broccoli, white cabbage. Keeping the tuna, lentils, chickpeas, feta and beans. When the kilos of fat start falling off for real I'll start going to the gym once a week to replace fat with muscles. Starting this in the winter is probably a good idea as the indoor pool will be closed for about a month then as well.

No target weight, just a target body shape.

It's working. IT'S WORKING! THE NANOSPHERES ARE ONLY ATTACHING TO NANORODS THAT I'VE EXPOSED IN UV LIGHT! YESSSSSSSS.

Granted this is only replicating the work of a grad student who left a few years ago, but it means I can @#%#@%@ finally move forward on my research!

As luck would have it, I just ran across an OMG MY FIRST WEDDING SHOOT WAT DO? thread that has a lot of useful tips and things to consider.

Party at friend's house.

He had some mixed beer he had bought and friends had brought over in the last couple months than he wanted to get rid of. I was happy to lend a hand. Corona, Heineken, even a couple cans of Guinness. Talked about what we're all doing lately, was in general pretty chill and I really enjoyed it.

Was a long and slightly staggering walk home at the end of the night. Smile

My cats usually piss on plastic bags, so you should consider yourself lucky!

All the honey in my life up to this point has come in the little bear-shaped bottles from the supermarket.

Today we acquired 2 quarts of honey from a local apiarist.

It's a totally different world of delicious! Without even being a darker variety, this stuff is definitely fruity-flavored and noticeably tangier than the heavily filtered, pollen-less bear goop. I didn't ask about what kind of flowers were used but I wouldn't be surprised it if included a lot of wildflowers and blackberry.

I don't think I can go back.

Don't even try. Even if money gets tight, just ration the good stuff to make it last.
