Going to London next month. Already looking forward to it. In fact I have been for the past 3 months or so. It'll just be a weekend, but still.
So yeah one month and 4 days left and I am excited already. I am going to see a friend, we've been talking pretty much every day for months (since August I think) now and it will be awesome to finally meet up for real, as it turns out England really isn't that far away or expensive to go to. Also I suppose it will be nice to see London proper, only been there briefly once before and that was 11 years ago. Anyone know anything that I should make sure to see while there?

Aside from all the obvious things like the british museum and them other buildings I'd say you should go to Speakers' Corner if you can. It is on my list at least. Also visit Harrods as it's a really cool store (though obviously also a depressing proof of the moral bankruptcy of capitalism Razz ).

And I think I remember there being a James Bond museum with James Bond stuff but it has been a while for me too. I do mean to visit it some time in the future though.
So we ended up just going to Highgate Cemetary.

Yeah, I'm a cliché, I know.

Spent the rest of the time in a wonderful daze. Great weather, which was damn lucky. Got lost in Highgate for a bit with Kayleigh. Fell even more in love. It was almost dreamlike, well not the subway but eh. Yeah. 24 h is a short time. And now I really have to go to England again, because it turns out...unexpected and wonderful things do happen. Maybe I'm just being silly but...wandering around London, getting dinner and going to a pub was sort of the best thing I've done in a long time. We kissed at the train station because good byes are hard. Sorry, you didn't really ask about this and maybe I am oversharing but eh. Yeah. Life is good.

No worries. And damn how did I forget about Marx' grave, that's obviously also a good choice. Cemeteries in general are interesting places to spend an afternoon walking around. As weird as it sounds.

Glad you had fun. Now I'm really thinking about taking a trip to london too.

i don't know why it would surprise me that karl marx and douglas adams would be in the same cemetery, but that does indeed make it a truly awesome place to go.

They are. Plenty of the tombstones had pretty interesting epitaphs on them.

After helping a friend clear out his storage unit, I've got some neat 80s and early 90s clothes - including a casual purple suit jacket with SHOULDERPADS. I can now go around with pointy shoulders.

Every time I see people in shoulder pads, Klaus Nomi immediately pops into my head.

So I'm trying to argue that clothing itself doesn't have a gender but what society imposes on it on reddit and the user goes off screaming how I'm some taliban supporting harpy. I would laugh at him but the site is in maintenance now. Oh the lols.

Yes, DeD CHIkN, that is exactly what I look like.

Actually, I'll try and get a picture later. It is a bright purple jacket that implies I should be a supervillain of sone kind. Maybe Adrian Veidt.

I start training at a new job Monday.

Talk about awesome timing.

I told my professor about it, apparently someone else from my class is starting Monday as well.

Aseptic quality assurance, huzzah!

Congrats! What is aseptic quality assurance? Are you testing people or things?
