Well, hopefully the antibiotics work as intended and that's the end of it.

agreed.

C. Diff is very unpleasant.

Just keep up with the recommended meds, and don't stop until told to.

Good luck

my sympathies also, TIAB. I hope your wife gets well quickly, and the hospital can do a bit more for you this time.

sympathies to TIAB...MRSA sucks and c. diff sucks BUT they've got powerful antibiotics now that should attack it pretty well. the c. diff thing kind of comes with the antibiotic use, and that'll get better once her body can recolonize normal flora and keep the c. diff in check. best wishes <3

sympathies to arc, too...the last time i got stung was by a bee and that was bad enough. i hope you're feeling better from your stings and that the truck is ok. :/

Just that little bit of knowledge alone has told me I made the right call banning myself from reading webmd ever.

On that note, I hope she gets better really soon, TIAB.

In fact, everyone that's been ill or stung or whatever. If I could wish it all away I would.

Yeah, C.difficile forms a semimembranous layer on the inside of your colon that causes inflammation and bleeding, limits nutrient absorption, and causes frequent, uncontrollable diarrhea that has a smell you will never forget. A bad case, or in a compromised patient, can be deadly (and it tends to spread through nursing homes like the plague, killing a few people each year). It's also difficult to kill, you basically have to bleach everything.

And for an added bonus, it has nearly all of the symptoms that Pepto Bismol treats, but Pepto Bismol actually makes it worse.

Fortunately, there is no sign of C. Diff as of yet, and the MRSA is slowly clearing up. She's able to do more than she has been with no further flair ups either. Not in the clear yet, but she is doing much better.

Thanks all for the concern and well wishes.

Oh, TIAB, I'm so sorry to hear about the MRSA, but I'm glad that she's doing better.

It's crazy to get rid of. It's one of the few things that require isolation of the room here when patients have it.

On the plus side, whenever I go to the hospital for my what have you I almost always have a private room because of my recurring cases of it.

I hope the MRSA continues to clear up.

i just failed my pharm final and it brought my average down from a 94.4 (A) to an 88. FML, we need a 3.0 to stay in the program and i needed this class to balance out medicine.

also i'm a mess of hormones and emotions and sleep deprivation and i still have another final this afternoon.

fml i think i might just give up and flee the country. because that's the answer to everything--just run away.

I got a post-it note on my door today saying I didn't pay my rent and I need to pay it and the late fees immediately. Panic inducing because 1) I did actually pay my rent 2) I wouldn't put it past my landlord to raise it without telling me because 3) I'm not actually under a lease.

Fuck fuck fuck.

Oh, and when I try to call him an automated voice tells me he isn't accepting calls. I have to act normal at work now even though I'm two steps away from a full blown anxiety attack over this shit.
