general our bodies kind of suck and all inevitably wear themselves out if they aren't broken by some random trauma first post

* the oldest of the cats disappeared a couple weeks ago, probably dead, old age
* the dog just died of heart failure; spent his last few hours in pain
* my mother probably has cancer; don't know for sure yet, but the doc said it's a 95% chance, and life expectancy in that case will probably be about a year
* etc

many hugs to HR.

Samsally: can you check with your bank to see if the rent check has been cashed, and if so, when, and can you get a copy of it? so you can at least prove you did pay for what your understanding of what the rent was.

and sporko: don't flee the country! or at least wait - there may be a bunch of us joining you. we can form our own country!

HR: That's awful, I'm so sorry.

Sam: Accurate.

mouse: I finally got a hold of my land lord. He said it was probably because I'm a freak of nature and pay my rent early and the person who normally does the books had a stroke so he'd look into it. I may have paraphrased. He hung up before I could pass on my concern for whoever it was that had a stroke.

I have to design a poster as part of a community health class, and one of my partners took it upon herself to lay it out. It's awful. I cringe when I see it.

The other members of my group offer ebullient praise of it, and the amount of time she put into it.

I could make a better poster in 10 minutes in PowerPoint, not even using Photoshop for graphics.

The poster is a very small fraction of my grade, so not really worth hurting her feelings over...

... but my name is going to go on it, and I'm a perfectionist...

... I'm thinking of destroying her Macbook "by accident" and then "offering" to duplicate her work to make up for it. That sounds reasonable and not at all like a plot I stole from a kid's show, right?
