She has, probably, the best help you can get. I just want to help her through the whole affair and make sure she feels loved Smile

We'll do ok. It's just going to be a lonely week.

One of my teeth just broke.

And it didn't hurt.

That... can't be good.

nah, never is. go have a dentist look at it asap. if you're working, tell work you are having a dental emergency.

the right kind of break (and there are a lot of them) can put the tooth at risk of dying.

I broke a few teeth as a kid before my adult teeth came in. If you break the tooth and it didn't hurt, that's actually a pretty good thing as it means the break didn't go through to the nerve.

Trust me, you don't want to expose a tooth nerve. It's really, really, really unpleasant.

Got an appointment in an hour or so.

This is just reminding me that my grad school studies are going to be on a strict timer, I haven't got long until my teeth really start to go, and if I'm not in a decent job with dental insurance when that happens, I'm beyond fucked.

Nobody hires someone for real work if they're missing visible teeth, 98th percentile GREs or no.

Fake teeth are essentially undetectable these days. You'll be solid.

Assuming I can afford them, that's the rub.

Have been referred to another dentist to determine if the tooth can be save or needs to be extracted, neither root canal nor extraction are covered by my insurance.

WHEEEEEEEEEE.

Check with your school finaid department about emergency loans for medical expenses... borrowing more money sucks, but if you need your teeth...
