This rant, it's a good one.
Also, sorry for your losses Monkey.
If I may add my own, my mom's best friend was diagnosed with kidney cancer about 4 months ago. Despite treatment it spread through her body and she was taken to hospice last week. She isn't on death watch yet, but the doctor said about 3 weeks.
As sad as that was to hear she is semi distant to me, but watching my mom cry and talk about how everyone she loves keeps leaving her or dying, followed by a list of names, was absolutely heartbreaking.

Jees, Willem, if you're reading, first off I would still stand by my 'snap out of it' stance. As for the length and rantiness of the rest of my post, fuck knows what I was going on about. Clearly something I need to think about myself, ey? Hope things are going okay.

As someone who's pretty much in the same boat as Gary (33, no job, fucked up college) I gotta agree with him. He's said most of what I would but I'll add this gem: make sure you're masturbating regularly. Also, only drink as part of a recreational activity that helps enhance an already good situation. DO NOT drink if your mindset is anything along the lines of "I could sure use a drink" or "A drink would make me feel better" or if you're generally in a "down" sort of mood.

I still think time off would do Willem wonders. Go see the world. Sow your wild oats or something. Is there a trip you've always wanted to take? Maybe visit your favorite Sinfester(s)? Start saving the money and give yourself something to look forward to.

Urgh, Tits McGhee must be lonely / bored ... she just asked whether I was busy. Two weeks back she told me she was free all weekend and we should go do something. I text her on the Friday and offered to meet her for a coffee the next day (Saturday, calender fans!). She never replied.
Now she wants us to hang out? Someone start running a book on how long it takes me to pathetically reply to her? Also I put a £5 on me posting some stupid fb update about how busy and engaging my social life is right now even though I'm online but obvs chatting with other busy, socially engaged individuals about our busy, socially engaging social lives within the next hour.
