Well first I was stuck on the whole "A leopard can't change his spots" motif, then I realized that this was TAT's ever-changing god under another face. Given the reoccurring themes of balance and change it occurred to me: This arc is profoundly simple: We are who we pretend to be.

Aaaaannnndddd cue for the Devil! *waits for it* It's gonna happen, and then god is gonna whip out the Devil puppet and the Leopard and Devil are gonna fight. The leopard rocks all socks beyond belief, he stands for more than what he shows which I love in anything, because double meanings kick ass.

By the way Pilot, is sin only good in moderation? because the last time i checked, eating babies or raping the elderly isn't so good, even in moderation...

In the context of slick, his sins arn't THAT bad, worse thing he did was sell his soul to the devil, which in a Christian context is probably the worst thing you could do. eh, like i said his sins arnt that bad.

God's point is more about showing slick how ridiculous he's being by giving up. The part about moderating your life I'm grabbing from the recurring themes of zen presented in the strip.
It's less to do with the sins, more to do with the mindset.

"You won't change if you keep acting that way" type stuff.

(to say sin is good in moderation is oxymoronic, but then you need to redefine sin, which is why I think for the most part the word has been avoided in the strip, sans its name. The arcs have been less about "sinner and you're going to hell!" and more about the struggle between good and evil in the form of giving into excessive temptation with Squig on one side, 'Nique on the other and Slick in the middle.)

wow, you really missed the point.

edit: I want to apologize for jumping to this conclusion and to ask you a couple of questions. Is this really all you get from this comic? Does it really seem like god is just being a dick? I've noticed you making similar statements about other comics regarding the antics of god's hand puppets. Did you only see god being a dick in those comics as well with no other explanation for his actions or is your view of god/ religion in any way prejudiced by a personal dislike?

I am honestly just curious. I'm not trying to call you out or make fun of you or anything so if you're inclined to answer hostilely, I would rather you just didn't answer.

God is comparing Slick to a leopard, with his... dastardly pounces, and being serious. God is trying to make light of the situation so he'll calm down, but it's not exactly working, unless there's more to Gods little plan. I'm still going with the Devil's gonna cue in, and Slicks gonna see how wrong the Devil is, and go back to the goody hoody.
