In highschool I had a choice of (meaning I had to pick one, not I could choose to not participate) Spanish, French, and German.
I had no interest in any of them so I went to the counciler and asked about just straight up Latin like they used to teach as it is the root for many other languages I feel it would better serve me. I was told that Latin was removed from school because it doesnt exsist anymore. I asked about Italian and was told it was too similar to spanish to warrant a seperate class.
5 years of spanish (2 in middle school, 3 in highschool) later and I know "Puedro ir al bano por favor." Which to my understanding is Where is the bathroom? or May I go to the bathroom please? I used it as the latter everyday and walked the halls for 20 minutes. |

I have a German test tomorrow. Normally, I adore the language, despite not actually speaking it (We only have one hour of German a week), but at the moment, it's starting to annoy me.

You know, I never said the word Gaststättengewerbe in my whole life. That's only important if you study law or something. Everyone rather says Restaurant or Gaststätte. |

I'll tell my teacher that, if I fail the test. She'll forgive me, then. >_> _________________ attitude of a street punk, only cutting selected words out of context to get onself excuse to let one's dirty mouth loose |

Yes, that sounds way better. Sometimes I wish I would have paid more attention in the French class...but we also had a lot of fun laughing at the teacher. |

That's puedo, the yo form of poder (a stem-changing verb) which means 'to be able to.'
'Where is the bathroom' would be ?Donde es el bano? for lack of an upside-down question mark.
I've had a year and a quarter of Spanish. Maybe you should pay more attention? _________________

I didnt pay attention, that was the point.
Hence me walking the halls for 20 minutes every class, and not wanting to be there in the first place.
EDIT: Should also note spanish was the only class I did bad in. As it was the only class I deemed trivial. |

The funniest part is how you go it completely wrong after correcting someone elses, dipshit. Know your limits and stop being so pretentious. |

heeey! We have vowels aplenty! We just... use them carefully |

Ik vind de hoeveelheid klinkers in het Nederlands wel leuk. Hoewel het Engels fantastisch is, heeft het Nederlands toch ook wel iets speciaals. _________________ attitude of a street punk, only cutting selected words out of context to get onself excuse to let one's dirty mouth loose |

Which is my main beef with french and german that is taught in school. They don't teach you anything usefull. My first 3 years of french consisted of me learning about things in a french school, which completely failed since I will never visit a french school. I wanna know what to say in restaurants and stuff like that, I will be a fucking tourist, not a student or politician.
The only cool word I learnt in german class is "Kiffen". _________________
