I am speaking to Sinfest as a whole, which is a strange and inappropriate thing to do. You, collectively, are as cohesive as mud and church clothes. On this topic, however, I think we can all come together and have a big old Kum-By-Ya moment. Have faith, it is true!
The reality of the situation:
I have borrowed and stolen many many wonderful things from you all. You have too. (It's a simple law of interaction, dummy) I was thinking today about all the wonderful things I slipped out of this place like spaghetti noodles, and how drastically they have changed my life (we will not segue into a diatribe on music and its tendency to suck your soul in in a single breath and spit back out a new shiny different one for you to carry home and get used to, like a strange new puppy or a fishing pole), and I realized it was really inappropriate not to thank you for all the new things that made me me. I haven't time to go into detail (I'm hungry!), so this will be a straight list. You can do whatever you want, though. I don't care.
Leading by example:
Thanks very much to the following people.
Dennis J Squidbunny - Tom Robbins + Belle&Sebastian
Reasonablymad - poetry + modest mouse + The Magic Mountain + Sartor Resartus
Grimspecteroffuckitmynameisjustfred - the unicorns + ted leo + sufjan stevens + TOMFUCKINGOHMYGODWAITS
Tom - Leonard Cohen
DD - the machinist
Halen - radiohead + Nina Simone (zomgNina!)
Benny - Useful quotes for everyday situations, eg:
| Quote: | I propose that a new team of useless representatives be elected through a trial by blood.
when blood, I mean semen, in an olympic sized pool.
where they have to swim through it.
in full roman soldier garb. |
I mean, hell, when CAN'T you use quotes like these?
WoC - The facts. All of them.
Dingo - this bike is a pipe bomb
Chris/drdestructo - The Mountain Goats AKA Religion in CD Form + Blue Heron beer
Sam - Exemplifying what I strive to become as a human. Also, photography.
MsFris - My library. Because of you I went, and then became hooked.
Tat - This strange mass congealed because of you. What did you do?

| Nathan is in my top ten list of favorite people in the universe. This has baffled researchers: "They've never met. Is this possible?" |

More specifics later, but thanks to you all you motley lot for your variety and open-mindedness. Having access to your differing points of view, outlooks on life, and pieces of advice definitely helped me through some of my formative years and have certainly helped shape me into who I am (for better or for worse ^_~ ).
Hm... off of the top of my head:
Madman (I never knew him as Jesse =/ ), Ferret, Doctor Device, JohnnyStrider and whoever the hell else used to post in those ancient rp threads - trying to keep up with you guys really helped my writing. Thanks - I owe you a lot. ^_^
WoC - Thanks for the GIF animator, long long ago. ^_^
Benny - Thanks always for keeping things light around here.
Again, more later. _________________ Live to laugh. |
