I just love the fact that Slick realizes that the counter is near expiring when he gets all freaked out. That, and his use of an ICBM, the mushroom cloud, and a bible in the speech bubble, all in one second, must have made for one quick prayer for mercy and forgiveness.

Him cowering below the fireworks is funny as well, because since he isn't looking up, he might even believe that those are real bombs exploding instead of fireworks.

All around funny, and a great laugh for New Year's Eve!

Even God likes to celebrate the new year.

Slick's reaction is priceless. The first things he thinks about is war nuclear annihilation and religion. The fact that its New Year's eve doesnt even cross his mind. Laughing

Kinda lame. I was hoping for something better than this, like Slick and Monique at a New Years party.

It would be funnier if not for the horrid over-analysis in the forums.

what this? this isn't over-analysis, not compared to some of the stuff people have pulled out of their asses in other threads.

Yeah, I know what you mean. When I started reading the opinions of random strangers on the internet, I completely forgot my own reaction to this strip and was overwhelmed with disgust at the fact that some people like to think about what they read.

I've never encouraged free thought. That's the sort of thing that will destroy this great nation of ours.

I just thought he figured the stars were about to rollover to 1900.
