Also, the minute she came in, she asked if the other guy already was home.
I am going to get hurt aren't I? |
I could come and beat you up. That would prepare you.
in all seriousness, that means nothing. like, nothing at all.

I like him a lot too. He's so pretty. _________________ Ironically, Halen's one of the few people here I wouldn't worry about terrifying my friends and family. In my head he ends every real life conversation stroking his chin and saying, "well yes, that sounds reasonable." |

Maybe cutting back on the drinking and smoking would be a good thing... but don't cut back on hanging out with friends. Its good to keep them around.
My GOALS: Get fit, run a 10k in an hour, start being on time to work even if it doesn't matter, get a new job and DEFINITELY be on time to that one, apply to VCU to start on my Bachelors this Fall, volunteer 40 hours, knit a pair of socks and a snow cap, travel, .. oh! And drink more water after alcohol to cut down on the hangovers that seem to be getting worse with age. |

I was downright gleeful after the first time I actually did drink enough water and remember to take an aleve before bed after a night full of drinking. I woke up the next morning feeling pretty good! _________________ *ahem* |

At least start learning a new language (something somewhat familiar like french or spanish)
Find time and money to start up playing the cello again
Reduce my work-workload to only that which I have to do
Increase the amount of time that I spend with other people and not at work
Have more money
Maybe make a decision about my 5-year plan for the Ph.D?
Make fucking sure that I graduate when I'm supposed to and get into a graduate school for the Fall |
I'm still hazy on forum etiquette, but I think that a thread such as this is OK to necro....
It's amazing, I actually managed to achieve some of these!
Started learning Portuguese this past summer. Kinda dumped it once I touched down in Seattle though. No time =/
Reduced my workload but found that I wanted to end up doing more...
Definitely spent time with others, and even managed to make a new friend! And lose a girlfriend and gain a new girlfriend and then lose the new girlfriend and regain the old one!
Have more money. Hell, I even have a SAVINGS account! Dunno how the hell that happened.
Decided to go for the PhD and graduated. Applied to 4 schools, got into all of them, and now I'm in it.[/b] _________________ "I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer. Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration." ~Frank Herbert, Dune |

I want to keep my house more clean. It is a damn wreck most of the time. I already picked up some today!
And more sex. Yes, that is always a good resolution. _________________ Before God created Las he pondered on all the aspects a woman might have, he considered which ones would look good super-inflated and which ones to leave alone.

• Get back into Capoeira even if I have to practice alone
• Learn Python thoroughly

I'm going to eliminate as much of my stuff as I can before year's end.
I don't care anymore if I don't make any money back from it, I just need it to be gone.
and maybe eat better/more frequently. _________________ 88 NPH |

I don't really ever make resolutions but some things I happen to be doing around the new year:
-learning to play the banjo
-losing weight (I got into a really bad funk this fall and winter with depression and abusing my prescription narcotics and jumped from 145lbs over the summer to about 200lbs by Dec. I've already dropped ten pounds in a month so I'm hopeful)
-I've gotten off the aforementioned narcotics and have been without them for over a month. Unfortunately, my chronic pain has been so bad that I think I need to start using them again but I recognize the mistakes I made before and if I do have to start using them again I have the will and the lesson of a bad experience to use them properly.
-I'm working (and doing well) at becoming a vegetarian again. (I had to stop while I was taking MAOIs because the diet is so restrictive I couldn't keep up with being a vegetarian. I've been off them for almost a year but never went back to being a vegetarian. I always meant to but never got myself motivated to make the change, but I'm doing it now!)
edit: also I guess I should lurk less and be more active in the forum again. _________________ Formerly Green_Finn
