I'm not even going to comment on the rest because it's just horrible, but you know, Tat just wanted to illustrate that their planet is different from ours in a lot of ways and did so in a rather non-scientific manner.

Actually, I think Earth had olive green oceans and reddish land masses for something rather over two billion years. I'm just not sure how visible they would have been under the cloud cover. Earth has looked like its current pretty white and blue with brown bits for less than a billion years. The green bits have been around for about a third of a billion years. And a couple of billion years hence, Earth will probably look a lot like Mars does now, reddish and ocean-free, but possibly once again under a Venus-like haze.

Oh boo hoo! America is so great with all it's cameras and patriot acts and tasers. . . Why don't we all stay here?!

(Please don't tell me that european countries also suck, I know that. We just need some time to install all the cameras and stuff, but basically we are just like you.)

This isn't the first time we've seen Monique doing a protest or into peace.

Keep it real my lady.

Peace is not the same as being against mass consumption and capitalism.

Part of the discontent arises from buying into the lie that mass consumption and capitalism are the best (or only) economic answers, and all who disagree need to be bought, bombed or starved until they begin to play by the Western rules. Tony Campolo's We Have Met The Enemy... And They Are Partly Right is just as much a critique of capitalism in the last few chapters as it is of Marx, which I find refreshingly honest. When people are truly at peace, and they are able to do meaningful work, mass consumption loses its appeal.
