it occurred to me this morning that we should be more worried about what other people are listening to. i heard a bit of a clip from edward snowden in which he says he knows the entire u.s. espionage network, all the names, all their locations, all their missions. and he says this sitting in hong kong, on the dragon's lip. did it not occur to him that china might have a passing interest in that? although we may be in luck that he apparently misjudged hong kong's history of protecting political dissenters; it has mainly been protecting chinese dissenters - apparently they may be willing to extradite him to the u.s., if asked. at the very least, they should be unwilling to pass him on to mainland china.

it sounds like at least there is a lot more oversight than in bush's warrantless wiretapping days. and the thing with having huge amounts of data - you need to have a ton of programming power and computing power to make sense of it. it's not like on TV, where the NCIS guys can immediately pull up someone's whole history, including who his girlfriend is, from a facial recognition scan that gets completed in about 2 minutes.

i really want to believe that the picture with the story is the actual tiger. because it makes him look like the world's coolest cat, which he is.

The other staggeringly astounding thing is that Fox News and the rest of the conspiracy mongerers aren't doing anything with this actual horrible thing that is pissing people off. Fox News' website should be plastered end to end with this.

I suppose that's good news for Democrats.

Is this another example of nature's garish colors proclaiming 'DO NOT TOUCH' because I feel like if somebody licked that slug they'd either be high as balls or very very dead.

Conversation I had about two weeks ago with a nurse acquaintance:

Nurse person: "Yeah, the only thing worse than a prolapsed rectum is a prolapsed uterus."
Me: "A what? How does that happen?"
Nurse person: "Well ya know those old chicks that have like 12 or 14 kids? It just sorta falls out after a while once those girls get up there in years."
A different person: "What's that look like?"
Nurse person: "The best way I could describe would be calling it sort of a pink snail-slug sort of thing."

So what have we learned? Pink slugs are obviously disembodied prolapsed uteruses (uterii? uterem?)

Should you be concerned that a guy named Snowden seemingly disappears from hong kong after revealing himself.

Should you be concerned that he has knowledge of current operatives in the field?
