The single hospital of a small town has now decreed doctors in that town can't prescribe contraceptives.

http://freethoughtblogs.com/almostdiamonds/2014/03/29/a-town-without-contraception/

Guess which religion that hospital follows.

The article includes this quote
When the health care professional and the patient use institutional Catholic health care, they also accept its public commitment to the Churchís understanding of and witness to the dignity of the human person.
i keep hoping at some point someone will notice that all these demands that we honor some people's religious beliefs means we are allowing them to trample all over other people's religious beliefs...

I've never been a fan of mixing religion with politics.

Also, on tablets under 9 inches Windows 8 will be free.

Sooooo I wonder about older versions of the OS.

I know I could use another copy of 7.

So Windows 8.1 is free to tablet OEMs, and Android costs a license fee for all those firms that signed patent agreements.

Sweet. Maybe Windows tablets won't be ridiculously priced, then (I don't own an iPad, either).

Well, without the amount of ads Youtube shows anymore I'm sure Google will be alright.

On the flipside, Android only costs a one-time $25 dollar fee to get an Android Market account, plus 30% of every sale. Microsoft charges a one time $99 fee, takes 30% on every sale and if you release over 5 free apps a year you pay an additional $20 an app. And to top it all off, Apple charges $99 a year and also takes 30% of every sale.

well, it was always pretty clear it wasn't about religion, it's about destroying obamacare. once they gave in on religious institutions not being required to pay directly for contraception, conservatives figured they could broaden that into a wedge to take it down for everyone.

so i just came across another story about people being dead for years without anyone noticing, in this case, twins who were found as skeletons sitting together in recliners in the living room. lawn kept up, stop-delivery notice to the post office...and apparently they've been dead for 3 years. no signs of foul play.

so is this suddenly a thing, that people are dying with no one noticing?

....and if i don't post here for 3 years, will someone come and check on me?

I find it spectacular that even in this world of drones and webcams, social media and smartphones, people can go by unnoticed.
