| Quote: | Whenever I peel an orange, I save the stem end for last. There's something about pulling out the spine that is very satisfying. Texture-wise, visually, the little plucky squirty sensation, it's a fun little operation to cap the peeling process. That's sorta my modus operandi when it comes to food. I leave the best for last. When I have a chicken pot pie, for example, I eat all the carrots and peas first, and leave a stash of chicken for the big finish. When I have a sandwich I work my way around the crust to the middle. I have this shit down to a science. Sometimes, though, it's not so smooth. Things can get complicated. Like, when I'm eating a pancake breakfast with hash browns, bacon, and eggs, I can't decide what my favorite thing is. I panic a little in my heart because I don't know how it's gonna end. But that's what life is all about. Thrills, man. Thrills. I start out all confident that I'll end with a bite of bacon but then, the sweet syrupy pancakes start to win me over. Then the hash browns, that unassuming dark horse, makes a comeback. And then the eggs are like, "Hey, we're the pure unblemished souls of chicken! Recognize!" At that point, all bets are off. It's anybody's game. I might go with bacon. I might not. Nothing's set in stone. Anything can happen. I know what you're thinking. You're thinking, "Tat, You crazy fool! You HAVE to have the last bite planned out AT ALL TIMES!" But I like to live on the edge, Jack. I take chances. I flirt with danger. That's how I roll.

Whohoo! More funny notes from the resistance for us!
I also like leaving the best for last, but mostly I don't have enough time or I am too hungry to think about that |

dang. gotta get in the habit of checking for those again.
i also like to leave the best for last (although i start peeling oranges from the stem end down). which is why i never have hashbrowns and eggs with pancakes. it's just too many choices, and you can't combine them all together. the bacon can go either way, but it's always the cleanup-hitter - you use the last bit of bacon on top of the last bit of pancake to mop up the last of the syrup, or you have the last bit of bacon with the last bit of egg yolk (ideally, soaking in to the last bit of hashbrowns).
dang, i love breakfast. _________________ aka: neverscared! |

I always do the sandwich thing, and with foods like the pot pie I will eat the nasty carrots first, so I don't get off the table with a taste I don't like in my mouth. I don't eat a lot, so that's maybe why I became all strategical about it like Tat, gotta make the best of my meals. _________________

That's why you put a little bit of each into every fork-load.
The pancakes forms the base, then you top it with egg, sausage/bacon, then a little bit of syrup.
It's godly, truly godly. _________________ B.D. |

| We went out for brunch this sunday. I had the 'field of dreams'. It is quite genius. Make eggs benedict, but put it over biscuits and gravy, serve with sausage hash browns. I almost mused aloud to the waitress if it was called the 'field of dreams' because they made it and I came. |

Dangit, now I really want to go to a pancake house, but I can't, because it's almost 9pm and the good places (read: not IHOP) aren't open. |

Stop whipping that out in public already. You're supposed to be a scientist. _________________ 88 NPH |

wrap sausage in bacon, wrap sausage and bacon in pancakes, enjoy.
Pigs in a blanket are one of lifes little treats.
On a somewhat related note I have a frined who will only eat one item of food at a time and the food can not touch on his plate. He spins his plate as he finishes a portion. _________________ I have a face, with a mustache.

if it's served with gravy, i'm guessing they are your classic baking-powder type biscuits - tall and light and fluffy and just made to soak up honey and butter or gravy or whatever.
i haven't heard of sausage hash browns, but i am guessing those are hashbrowns cooked together with crumbled sausage, an absolute genius combination that i think i must just try. _________________ aka: neverscared! |

This looks close. Except the eggs were under the gravy (note, not a brown gravy) and on top of some ham and spinach. I laughed at the spinach "Ah a healthy breakfast, at least!".
and mouse, right. Some sausage bits to spice up the potato. |
