13/15... I did not know who Jonathan Edwards was and I just fucked up the Jewish Sabbath - as soon as I clicked on it I knew I got it wrong.

15/15 because I know a lot about the Old Testament. I actually only guessed once.

i remembered Jonathan Edwards because in high school i had to read his most famous sermon, "Sinners in the Hands of an Angry God," which is exactly what it sounds like.

it's an important piece of American literature and a representative of a major stream of American history but it reminds me of nothing so much as Fred Phelps.

7% of Mormons could not correctly identify Joseph Smith's religion.
Jews were the most likely to know who kicked off the Protestant Reformation.
Nearly half the Catholics haven't heard of transubstantiation.
And most intriguing, the answers for the Great Awakening preacher were uniformly and substantially worse than you'd expect from random guessing.

Yeah I felt stupid about that one too.

Got 12/15. Accidentally clicked the wrong religion for pakistan and got first question about the supreme court wrong.

These stats always get a hearty chortle out of me. 'Specially since atheists tend to top the scores on these tests - like this one. Though we're only JUST beating Jewish people and (this was a bit of a surprise) the Mormons.

15/15!

I actually preached the entirety of Sinners in the Hands of an Angry God for a Christian History class project in college. It made people uncomfortable, particularly since it was a sermon intended for (and delivered to) Christians. Actually the majority of the first Great Awakening was aimed at nominal Christians, not those outside the church. That largely changes in the Second Great Awakening, when the focus of revivalist preaching turns to those fully outside the church.

10/15
The Christianity questions are much more specific as opposed to other religion's questions.

And only 38% people know that Vishnu and Shiva are related to Hinduism? That's a bit disheartening.

14/15 with luck. Guessed "Jonathan Edwards", didn't know who any of them were. And I didn't know who Joseph Smith was either (until I read the answer)

13/15

Fucked up on the Jewish Sabbath question and the First Great Awakening question. I had no idea what the First Great Awakening was or who was involved.

This site lists free Kindle books:

http://onehundredfreebooks.com/#

It looks like those apps and sites that keep track of apps which are temporarily free. I don't use it, but a friend has vouched for it.
