|
|
My friend is heading off to England and asked me what I wanted her to bring me. When my first request was denied ("tickets for me to go too"), I said, "I'd like some candy."
"Cadbury Turkish Delights?" she asked.
"No," I said. "I can get that here in the states. I'd like some candy only found in Great Britain. Another friend of mine always gives the winglets candy from South Africa and Brazil (she has *her* friends bring them when they come to visit her) and I would like to repay her. I mean, I'm going to get some Canadian candy for her this weekend, but I would also like to give her some British Candy."
My travelling friend looked confused. I decided then and there to ask the brilliant UK 'festers what their favorite candies are. She doesn't leave until the 28th and will be bringing some of *my* candies ("Roxelana's HipDrops: something to suck so your dancing doesn't") to give to her friends over there.
So.
Dear Sinfesters in the UK, what are your favourite sweets that you would recommend?
(oh, and my neighbours to the north, what would you recommend I get during my weekend in your fair country?)
Thank you. |

Candian stuff: Get some Poutine, Timbits and a Cinnamon and Sugar Beavertail.
Of course try the local Canadian kick ass beers.
You will then know everything there is to know about our culture. |

This site should be a good resource for Canadian goodies:http://www.canadiansweets.com/
May I suggest Dare's Maple Leaf cookies. They're very good.
If you want some more recommendations, just ask. |

Get them some maple syrup, honestly. Our cookie culture is pretty americanized. Maple Syrup kicks all kinds of ass. _________________ bi-chromaticism is the extraordinary belief that there exists only two options

stay away from all UK chocolate, unless you're the crunchie type
The one thing I'd really like from the UK is a little chef trucker's special |

My exiled Canadian brethren south of the border are always asking me to bring them Smarties (much superior to the American tar of the same name) _________________ --------------------------------------------------

A redhead named Judith ... oh, wait, I get it. Um, well, nothing in the UK compares to Ghiradelli, so the question's pretty much a wash. _________________

I refuse to submit to the Smarties SS, eat the red ones first and be a rebel. Still Smaries > M&M's. _________________ bi-chromaticism is the extraordinary belief that there exists only two options
