It wouldn't rid us of post whoring. It might rid us of people who post whore for the sole reason of the questionable joy one recieves from watching their post count rise. Then again said post whores could simply relish their reputation for constantly spouting without any particular hard numbers.
Frankly, I wouldn't stand against such an alteration, I just don't honestly believe it would change anything.
